Markita Landry,加州大学伯克利分校化学与生物分子工程系、神经科学系及分子与细胞生物系副教授,同时任伯克利国家实验室、创新基因组学研究所(IGI)及Chan-ZuckerbergBiohub研究员等。Landry教授致力于利用纳米技术、单分子成像技术与分子工程策略,开发新型的基因编辑递送平台、神经递质探针、植物基因工程工具等,为生命科学、农业科技及神经科学提供前沿 解 决方案. 在 Nature Nanotechnology、 Nature Biotechnology、 PNAS、 ScienceAdvances等杂志发表研究论文50余篇,获批多项国际专利。

Abstract: Unique physical, chemical, and optical phenomena arise when materials are confined to the nano -scale. Our lab focuses onunderstanding and exploiting tunable optical and mechanical properties of nanomaterials to access information about biological systemsstored at the nano-scale. I will present recent work on developing and implementing neuromodulator nanosensors to image serotonin.dopamine, and oxytocin volume transmission in the extracellular space of the brain.Iwill also discuss how high aspect ratio nanomaterialsan be synthesized to carry biomolecular cargo to living systems. I wll describe how nanomaterials engineering principles can beleveraged to geneticaly manipulate plants without transgene integration, incuding fuly DNA-free tools in the form of protein delivery.
